PRACTISING MATHEMATICAL CHESS

Mathematical Chess is a two-player educational and entertaining game constructed from ten Digits: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,
and six Operators: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Power (Squareand Cube), and Root (Square root and Cube root).
The game is played on a chessboard made up of nine horizontal lines and nine vertical lines. The initial display of a game is not fixed, depending on the selection of the numbers and types of Digits and Operators.

To succeed in playing mathematical chess, players should learn and remember its 10 Definitions and 12 Rules. For the beginners, the easy way to start is to practise the games with solutions set up by the author in the link:

Game 1 MathChess

Chess Pieces: 2 Additions, Digits (1 … 7), Blue goes first.

B:   Blue 1 at A9 removes Red 3 at G9 (Digit Pair).
R:   Red Addition at D6 moves to D5 and removes Blue 3 at G5 and Blue 7 at B5.
        (7 and 3+4 = 7 are two equal Partial Values of the Red Addition at D5).
B:   Blue Addition at F6 moves to F7 and removes Red 6 at B7.
R:   Red 7 at E4 moves to E3 and removes Blue 5 at A3 and Blue 2 at H3.
        (5+7 = 12 and 2 are two Partial Values partially equal of the Red Addition at F3)
B:   Blue Addition at C4 moves to E4 and removes Red 5 at E2, Red 7 at E3 and
       Red 2 at E8.
R:   Red 4 at H5 removes Blue 6 at H7.
B:   Blue Addition at F7 removes Red 4 at H7.
R:   Red Addition at F3 moves to F9.
B:   Blue Addition at H7 moves to G7.
R:   Red Addition at F9 removes Blue 1 at G9.
B:   Blue Addition at G7 removes Red 1 at G2.

Game terminates and the winner is the Blue Side

 

Game 2 MathChess

  Chess Pieces: 2 Additions, 1 Subtraction, Digits (1 … 7), Blue goes first.

B: Blue Subtraction at B4 removes Red Addition at B2.
R: Red 3 at B9 removes Blue Addition at F9 (Digit Pair).
B: Blue 1 at A7 removes Red 6 at I7 (Digit Pair).
R: Red 7 at D1 removes Blue 6 at G1.
B: Blue Addition at C6 removes Red 4 at C9.
R: Red Subtraction at H4 moves to G4 and removes Blue 2 at G3 and 
     Blue 5 at G7.
B: Blue 7 at H8 moves to G8 and removes Red 7 at G1 and Red 
     Subtraction at G4.
R: Red 1 at H6 removes Blue 3 at E6.
B: Blue Addition at C9 removes Red 3 at F9.
R: Red Addition at D8 removes Blue 7 at G8.
B: Blue Addition at F9 removes Red 5 at F5.
R: Red Addition at G8 moves to G2.
B: Blue3 Addition at F5 moves to F4.
R: Red Addition at G2 moves to I2.

Game 11 MathChess

Chess Pieces: 2 Multiplications, 1 Division, Digits (1 … 9),
Blue goes first.

B: Blue Multiplication at E4 moves to E2 and removes Red 9 at B2 and
     Red 3 at D2.
      (9×3=27 and 7 are two Partial Values partially equal of the Blue 
        Multiplication at E2).
R: Red 7 at A4 moves to A2 and removes Blue Multiplicatiom at E2 and
     Blue 7 at H2.
     (Red 7 and Blue 7 are two equal Partial Values of Blue Multiplication 
       at E2)
B: Blue 6 at B7 moves to B8 and removes Red Division at D8 and Red 6 at
     E8.
     (Blue 6 and Red 6 are two equal Partial Values of Red Division at D8).
R: Red 8 at G3 moves to F3 and removes Blue 4 at F4, Blue Division at F6 
     and Blue 2 at F9.
     (8÷4=2 and 2 are two equl Partial Values of th Blue Division at F6 and
      Blue 2 at F9).
B: Blue Multiplication at C5 removes Red 2 at I5.
R: Red Multiplication at G8 removes Blue 6 at B8.
B: Blue 5 at H6 removes Red 4 at C6.
R: Red 8 at F3 removes Blue 9 at F1.
B: Blue 8 at C9 jumps over its partner Blue 3 at C6 to remove Red
     Multiplication at C3.

Game terminates on a draw by agreement as each team has 1 Multiplication and 4 Digits remained.

 

Game 13 MathChess

Chess Pieces: 2 Powers, 1 Root, Digits (1 … 9), Blue goes first.
                      Notations: sr: square root, cr: cube root

B: Blue Power at D7 moves to D1 and removes Red 9 at B1 and Red 1 at  F1.
      (92=81 and 12= 1 are two equal Partial Values of the Blue Power at  D1)
R: Red Power at C7 moves to C4 and removes Blue 7 at B4 and Blue 9 at  I4.
      ( 72=49 and 93=729 are two equal Partial Values of the Red Power at C4)
B: Blue 2 at I7 moves to I3 and removes Red 2 at A3, Red 8 at B3 and Red Power at G3.
     (22= 4 and 22=4 are two equal Partial Values of the Red Power at G3.
       22=4 and 82=64 are two equal Partial Values of the Red Power at G3).
R: Red 4 at A9 removes Blue 8 at A6.
B: Blue 2 at I3 moves to I6 and removes Red 4 at A6 and Red Root at H6.
     (sr(60+4)=8 and cr(510+2)=8 are two equal Partial Values of the Red Root at H6)
